Where can I get more information on how to eat before, during, and after my cancer treatments?
NIH’s National Cancer Institute is a wonderful resource for patients, families, and caregivers. They recently published a booklet that provides advice on choosing foods and managing eating problems before, during, and after cancer treatments.
You can view their homepage here, and their “Eating Hints: Before, during, and after Cancer Treatment” is linked here.
If I have questions about nutrition and managing symptoms of specific treatments, where can I look?
One of our favorite resources is Carolyn Katzin’s “The Cancer Nutrition Center Handbook.” This handbook provides thorough and insightful details on targeted therapy, respective nutrition management strategies, and patient advice across multiple tumor sites. Carolyn is a practicing registered dietitian with over 30 years of experience at UCLA Simms/Mann Center for Integrative Oncology.
